What made you make the move to Centrica Energy?

I’ve been in Trade Support Power for 2.5 years, whilst studying for my master’s degree and part of my Bachelor’s degree. Back then, I was highly motivated to join Centrica Energy, as I had heard so much positive feedback in terms of the opportunities for career development. In Trade Support I was presented to a role with great responsibility for operations, wide and useful knowledge for different departments, and the possibility to expand my responsibility for the team and my colleagues. As I was seeking new opportunities at the end of my studies, I was introduced to the Graduate Programme for Business Management Analysts. I was eager to pursue this opportunity, as I saw it as a great step in an exciting direction, being able to expand my current knowledge, apply my academic background and hopefully become a valuable asset for Centrica Energy.

 

Career after the Graduate Programme: 

I was offered a permanent role in Business Management during my first rotation, which I gladly accepted. I found myself very comfortable in the team during the rotation and saw it to be a great opportunity to continue my development both professionally and personally. Now, I am still very happy with my decision and continue to enjoy the challenges and tasks that I am facing! 

 

From day one you can claim responsibility and make a real impact which continuously can be developed and expanded. The Graduate Programme is a privileged opportunity for growth and learning.

What is the best part of being a graduate at Centrica Energy?

It is undoubtedly a great steppingstone, where you are given the opportunity to learn from the very best. You are welcomed into a team of experienced and knowledgeable people, who can help you reach your own goals and pursue a career within Centrica Energy.

 

What is your biggest learnings during the Graduate Programme?

As a graduate, you are positioned to be curious and expand your knowledge to your own appetite. This is a great responsibility and a unique opportunity to learn from colleagues both in and outside of your team, which I highly encourage any candidate to seek. During my relative short time as a graduate, I really appreciated the atmosphere and solidarity around and between graduates both on my own and previous cohorts. 

 

What’s your best advice for someone wanting to make the move and join the graduate programme?

Do your groundwork, get yourself familiar with what Centrica Energy is, their values, mission and vision. Be prepared to show commitment and diligence to stand out among your peers.


What should someone dreaming of becoming an Energy Mover know about Centrica Energy?

My experience throughout my time at Centrica Energy has been characterized by personal- and career-development, you are enabled to pursue your own goals, present ideas and follow them through to implementation. It is complex business, where you always will be able to expand your knowledge, and there is most likely someone within the organization willing to give a helping hand or push you in the right direction.
