The Langage Power Station project was acquired by Centrica Langage Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Centrica Energy, in August 2004.
In 2006, we announced that we would develop a modern and efficient combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power station of 885MW at Langage with a total project cost (including the cost to build Langage) of approximately £400m.
The Power station achieved first the first ignition and first fire of its turbines in 2009 and became operational in 2010.
Langage is one of the most modern and efficient power stations in the world. Gas is the cleanest fossil fuel available for power generation. Langage more than meets stringent environmental criteria and operates well within the standards set by the European Union.
